Programme Desks

Our Programme Desks are responsible for leading and executing the specific provisions in the local content implementation framework, with each one focused on the following areas: ICT Services, Software Development, Human Capital Develoment, and Hardware and Infrastructure. The office also maintains a Communications Desk focused on stakeholder relations, campaigns, advocacy and public relations.

● Ensure all Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Telco’s Networking and Data companies meet and fulfill all the provisions set out in the guidelines that established ONC.

● Ensure NITDA and National Communication Commission (NCC) fulfill their roles as set out in the guidelines.

● Leading discussions with Multinational companies (MNCs) to ensure that local firms are given priority over offshore outsourcing in their procurement processes.

● Facilitate the development and growth of an ICT enabled services industry in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Information Technology Enable Outsourcing Companies (NAITEOC) and other groups focused on the ICT services.

● Ensuring all ISVs and SDFs meet and fulfill all the provisions set out in the guidelines.

● Ensuring NITDA fulfills its role as set out in the guidelines.

● Working with the incubation and accelerator programs to provide input into their program.

● Leading campaigns and awareness for the use and adoption of locally developed software.

● Working with universities and institutions of higher learning to build centers of excellence for software engineering.

● Working with incubation centers, ISVs and SDFs to ensure that locally developed software meet the highest quality standards.

● Fostering the growth of the software industry by facilitating funding, mergers, acquisitions and more visibility for Nigerian ICT entrepreneurs.

● Developing programs and initiatives to increase demands for local software products.

● Determining areas requiring software intervention and providing funding for such initiatives.

● Developing programs and ideas that will lead to the development of software developers, ICT engineers, entrepreneurs etc.

● Identifying target disciplines and technical competencies that need to be developed in the industry.

● Instituting training, development, internship and placement programs.

● Ensuring NITDA fulfill their roles as set out in the guidelines.

● Ensuring MNCs adhere to the provisions set out in the guidelines.

● Leading discussions with MNCs to encourage technology transfer and human capital investments.

● Partnerships with higher institutions.

● Partnership with CAPDAN to setup a skill acquisition/ augmenting program.

● Ensuring OEMs and ODMs meet and fulfill all the provisions set out in the guidelines.

● Ensuring NITDA fulfills its role as set out in the guidelines.

● Developing programs and initiatives to increase demands for local ICT products.

● Organize and facilitate quality management forums, discussions and processes.

● Monitoring, enforcement and creative implementation of the Guidelines.

● Promotion of Hardware Local Content.
