Brief Introduction

The Office for Nigerian Content Development in ICT (ONC) was established by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to drive the development of indigenous Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Nigeria. The ONC operates in collaboration with various stakeholders in the ICT industry. The official take-off was on June 30, 2015 with the recruitment of a National Coordinator and the assumption of duty of its pioneer staff.

To achieve a successful and sustainable Nigerian content implementation plan, the strategic actions of the ONC are anchored on collaborative stakeholder relationships. The ONC will actively build and leverage existing in-country collaborative stakeholder partnerships around suppliers, service providers, operators and other key industry participants. The aim of this partnership is to provide a strong stakeholder collaboration model and participatory framework to guide the implementation of the Nigerian content agenda.
